A Kerr metric describing a rotating black hole is obtained on the three brane in a fivedimensional RandallSundrum brane world by considering a rotating fivedimensional black string in the bulk. We examine the causal structure of this spacetime through the geodesic equations.

An attempt is made to see how much of chiral symmetry is contained in dual models for pseudoscalar mesons. The chiral constraints are found to be contained in dual models as either dynamical restriction or kinematical factors. At the phenomenological level there is no serious inconsistency.

We investigate the asymmetries arising due to electromagnetic interactions in largeP_{T} pion inclusive processes. The hardqcd processes that contribute to such asymmetries areq+g→q+γ,q+q→g+γ etc. which are suspected to be substantial, as indicated by theqcd predictions for a significant and increasingγ/π^{o} ratio at largeP_{T}. We calculate the expected isospin related asymmetries and propose tests that might detect them. Our estimates indicate that the effects are much smaller than may be naively expected. We also observe a remarkable scaling of asymmetries in the variableP_{T}/(s)^{1/2}.

The absolute thermopower of single phase YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7} and Y_{0.8}Er_{0.2}Ba_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7} has been measured in the range 250 K to the superconducting transition temperature. It is found that these compounds show a large enhancement of thermopower in the range 150 K down toT_{c}. This enhancement shows a steep exponential drop as the temperature increases from the transition temperature. The temperature variation of the enhancement is too steep to be accounted for by electronphonon or electronlocal structural excitation mechanisms.

BDFRW universe filled with imperfect fluid having bulk viscosity is investigated under the framework of IsraelStewartHiscock causal theory. The field equations have been solved by using the relationφ=KR^{α} whereK andα are constants, between the BransDicke scalar fieldϕ and the scale factorR. This relation, in fact, leads to a constant deceleration parameterq. It is shown that the constancy of the deceleration parameter permits only two possibilities i.e. eitherH=constant withm=1 orm=(1+b −α)/(2(1+b) −α), irrespective of the value ofɛ.

Lattice imaging technique of high resolution electron microscopy has been employed to examine 4H, 6H and 9R ABO_{3} perovskite polytypes. The lattice images can be correlated with the lattice periodicity and the stacking sequence of AO_{3} layers and BO_{6} octahedra. The study shows the utility and validity of the lattice imaging technique for the study of relatively closepacked systems.
