The SchrodingerGreen function is constructed for an anisotropic nonquadratic potential which has been studied in recent literature. The eigen energies and wavefunctions are readily obtained. Our analysis shows that the wavefunctions given in earlier literature are incorrect and the source of the error is pointed out. A semiclassical treatment of the problem is also presented in support of some of our observations.

This paper addresses itself to the problem of thermoacoustic generation by an obliquely incident laser beam in a body of water. Farfield directivity pattern of thermoacoustic source (TS) has been studied analytically and numerically. Our study suggests the possibility of getting highly directional sound beams in a simple configuration.

It is sometimes suggested that the change from the horizontal to the normal branch in the Xray intensityhardness ratio diagram of low mass Xray binaries, is due to a change from a thin to a thick disk. It is shown here that wind from the hot thick disk depletes the amount of matter reaching the neutron star, thus causing the observed reduction of Xray intensity as hardness ratio decreases in the normal branch.

We propose a gaussian model for the distribution of rotational tunneling lines which constitute the experimentally observed inelastic neutron scattering spectra in the range 0 to 0.6 meV from the mixed system (NH_{4})_{x}K_{1−x}I. The intensity profiles generated by this model are in remarkable agreement with the experimentally observed ones.

Formulations and algorithms for optimizing biased random walk problems in radiation transport are described. A matrixintegral equation is constructed by coupling the second moment and its derivative with respect to the biasing parameter. The optimization is based on estimation of the second moment around the score and the Monte Carlo perturbation algorithm to treat the variation in the biasing parameter.

A general analysis of bilinear algebras of creation and destruction operators is performed. Generalizing the earlier work on the singleparameterqdeformation of the Heisenberg algebra, we study twoparameter and fourparameter algebras. Two new forms of quantum statistics called orthofermi and orthobose statistics and aqdeformation interpolating between them have been found. In the Fock representation, quadratic relations among destruction operators, wherever they are allowed, are shown to follow from the bilinear algebra of creation and destruction operators. Postitivity of the Hilbert space for the fourparameter algebra has been studied in the twoparticle sector, but for the twoparameter algebra, results are presented up to the fourparticle sector.
