The potential between two^{12}C nuclei in linear chain configuration has been calculated microscopically using the AliBodmerαα potential. This potential shows a pocket and compares well in the tail region with the phenomenological potential extracted before, from the data on the quasimolecular resonances of the^{12}C +^{12}C system. This provides support to the diatomic like rotationvibration picture of quasimolecular states.

The BarkerHenderson perturbation theory is used for a νdimensional fluid with squarewell potential. Analytic expressions are given for the equation of state, excess free energy per particle and internal energy. The numerical results are discussed. A significant feature is the increase of the thermodynamic properties with increasing dimensionality.

The occurrence of discontinuities in the energy spectrum of theswave Hamiltonian in three dimensionsH(μ, λ) =p^{2}/2 − 1/r + 2µr + 2λ^{2}r^{2} has been reported by us. In this communication we develop a unified understanding, based principally on the topography of the energy surfaces, of the different discontinuities we reported earlier. These discontinuities do not in general occur wherever the corresponding classical system would display catastrophic behaviour.

A brief account for the higher order wave function in HartleHawking (HH) proposal is given which is compared with the tunneling wave function due to Vilenkin. The probability distributions are determined for both types of wave functions. Also a class of solutions are evaluated using HH approach for KantowskiSachs metric with a scalar field and inflation is observed.
